This year’s Earth Day Festival was powered by people—we went off the grid! The electricity needed for the stage sound system was generated by people riding stationary bicycles. It’s all part of a very cool idea from the band Mr. Something Something that created the unique SoundCycle system.

- The Team Green Challenge invites corporate and community groups to come together to help promote positive environmental action by:
- Planting trees in Downsview Park’s Canada Forest
- Riding stationary bikes to provide power to the event
- In conjunction with Downsview Park’s Earth Day Festival was City Councillor Maria Augimeri’s Environment Day.
- Interactive exhibits by Creepy Crawlers, the Canadian Raptor Conservatory, Reptilia and Toronto and Region Conservation’s Watershed on Wheels.
- The Kids Area featured arts and crafts, origami, buskers, face painting, nature walks and more!
- The Green Pavilion offered food and exhibits by eco-friendly vendors and organizations that share our vision and values.
