Friends:
This issue of the eNews is to provide you an update on our recent events and give some ideas on our plans.

It's been a busy few months since our last eNews. Not only has there been considerable work behind the scenes, but neighbours can see construction underway along our southern Keele Street frontage.

As we enjoy the spring season, I know that many of you, those that care about the future of Downsview Park, must also be very excited with all of the activity that is happening to transform the former military base into a park for present and future generations.

If you’ve visited recently, driven past or live close by you’ve probably witnessed the construction equipment within the park. I personally feel so gratified to see this as this change started many years ago and is now coming to life.

Canada Blooms at the Metro Convention Centre, South Building
March 18 to 22

Did you stop by the Downsview Park booth at Canada Blooms? Those who did enjoyed a free organic apple and one of our free bookmarks with herb seeds!

Downsview Park is pleased to be the recipient of the more than 100 five-to-eight year-old trees that were on display throughout the Canada Blooms exhibit halls. They will now live in the greenery of the Downsview Park Canada Forest.

Groups looking for a day away from the daycare, community centre or home location need look no further than Downsview Park! New this summer, groups can book specially designed educational field trips that cater to their interests.

Adult and youth groups can take advantage of the diversity and expertise of Downsview Park staff on a range of sustainability issues. Trips can include outdoor and indoor activities. This is a fee-for-service program to help pay for the park we are building. Call 416-952-2222 for more information.
